Information for US buyers in UK sales

VAT information:

Customers residing in and accepting delivery in the USA don't need to pay VAT. As long as Tarisio ships your purchases to you outside of the EU within three months of the sale date, you will not be charged VAT on the hammer or premium. Or if you collect an item yourself and then export it from the European Union within three months of the sale date, Tarisio will refund you any VAT charged. Reduced shipping charges:

Tarisio is offering reduced shipping for US customers who make purchases in our UK sales. US customers will be charged domestic shipping fees ($45 ground shipping for a violin, etc.) plus a surcharge of just £30 (approximately $50) per lot to cover consolidated shipping from London.

US duties:

US customers will be charged for US import duties plus a customs brokerage charge of 0.3% per lot. The duty rate for instruments under 100 years old is 3.2%; there are no duties for items over 100 years old or for used bows.

Payments:

All estimates and bids are in pounds sterling and payments should be made to Tarisio's London office in pounds. We can accept payment by check, bank transfer or credit card (a 4% charge applies to all credit card transactions).

Ending times:

Ending times for each lot are in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) or British Summer Time (BST) ­ usually five hours ahead of the East Coast and eight hours ahead of the West Coast.
